DD3 Single-boom Development Drilling Rigs for Underground Mining

Siton DD3 is an advanced single boom face drill rig mainly used for underground mine development, and also well for various tunneling projects including hydro-power stations, roads, and railways construction. The development drilling rig is suitable for underground mining drifts and tunnels with cross sections ranging from 3.2m×3.2m to 6.9m×6.7m.This powerful rig features a dual-triangle hydraulic parallel boom, excellent drilling stability, precise positioning, and wide coverage. 1. Safety First

Given the inherent risks associated with drilling operations, such as falling rocks, equipment rollover, it is crucial to ensure the safety of operators. Siton addresses these concerns by equipping our product drilling rigs with canopy certified for FOPS (Falling Object Protective Structure) and ROPS (Roll Over Protective Structure), providing robust protection for operators.   

2. Telescopic Boom

DD3 features an extension boom with a fully hydraulic parallel holding system, delivers extended reach and a broader working range. With swing-boom support, the feed assembly enhances visibility and positioning. The 1500mm telescopic extension increases coverage area, enabling full-face drilling in one stop.   

3. Powerful Rock Drills

The hydraulic rock drill delivers fast penetration rate in hard rock (up to F17 hardness) and features a classic double-damping design, ensuring longer service life, lower maintenance costs, and exceptional drilling tool economy. Equipped with a standard 18 kW rock drill, with an optional 20 kW or 22kW model. The drilling diameter ranges from 33 to 102mm, and the penetration rate can reach 0.8-2.5m per minute.

4. Smart Control System

The intelligent control console cancontinuously monitor the status of the rock drilling, hydraulic, and engine systems at any time, making the equipment status clear at a glance. A CAN-Bus or hydraulic control console is available as an option to suit different operational preferences. Thesystemsupports both on-board and remote-control operation modes, enabling flexible switching to adapt to varying underground conditions and operator needs.

5. Reliable Chassis

It is equipped a 53kW diesel engine as standard, and a 56kw diesel engine as optional, both compliant with the China III emission standards. The central articulated design, hydraulic power steering and four-wheel drive provide excellent mobility in narrow drifts. Its braking system—combining service, parking, and emergency brakes—ensures safe operation and ease of maintenance.
